Taiwanese operator Chunghwa Telecom has partnered with video streaming platform Fox+, a unit of Fox Networks Group, to provide OTT services on the local market. DigiTimes reports. The partnership will initially include an OTT mobile value-added service. Chunghwa Telecom then plans to launch an integrated platform combining its MOD service with Fox+ OTT platform, according to Chunghwa Telecom chairman David Cheng.
Under the terms of the partnership agreement, Chunghwa Telecom will have exclusive rights to distribute the Fox+ service for six months in Taiwan. Chunghwa Telecom is Fox Networks' third partner in Asia to launch the Fox+ service, which is also available in Singapore and the Philippines.
According to Zubin Gandevia, president of Asia-Pacific and Middle East operations at Fox Networks, the partnership with Chunghwa Telecom will allow Fox Networks to reach 5 million cable TV users as well as tens of millions mobile users in Taiwan.
