Telecel Zimbabwe, a mobile and telecommunications company in Africa, has announced the upgrade of the network in for the launch of Long Term Evolution services by September 2017.
The mobile company has begun installing the equipment as part of its network upgrade and LTE project which was announced in May 2017.
As part of the plan we announced in May, the company has started to install LTE equipment in Harare, Bulawayo, Gweru and Mutare.
“This phase will be immediately followed by a country-wide deployment of this 4G technology,” confirmed Angeline Vere, Telecel Zimbabwe Chief Executive Officer.
In addition to the LTE, Telecel will also be upgrading current sites as well as rolling out new 3G sites across the country.
The announcement was made while the company was unveiling their latest offering Unlimited Night Data Bundle.
Vere, said the company had embarked on technology upgrades which allow the company to introduce more innovative data related services for the enjoyment of their customers who will have an improved user experience.
LTE is fourth generation mobile technology which allows users super-fast, real time internet connectivity.
