Russia’s Rostelecom saw its pay-TV subscriber base grow by 6% in the year to June 30, when it stood at 9.5 million households.
Of these, 4.6 million (+18%) received IPTV services. Meanwhile, the company’s broadband subscriber total grew by 5% to 12.6 million.
The B2C base increased in size by 5% to 11.8 million, while the number of subscribers connected by fibre optic increased by 12% year-on-year to 7.5 million, or 63% of the subscriber base.
Significantly, Rostelecom accounted for over 80% of new connections in the IPTV market in H1, as well as for around 50% of total broadband market connections.
Its total fibre network coverage reached 32.7 million households at the end of Q2.
The telco’s revenues in H1 amounted to R145,602 million (€2,030 million) up 1% on a year earlier.
OIBDA was R46,167 million (-3%) and net income R5,976 million (+30%).
