Telstra’s chief operations officer Robyn Denholm has revealed in a blog post that the company’s 4G network now covers 99% of the Australian population. The coverage milestone was said to have been achieved in the wake of the mobile network operator (MNO) completing the deployment of new mobile sites in Woongenellup, Western Australia and in Kongwak, Victoria, as well as upgrades in Cardwell, Queensland and in Grace Plains, South Australia to is ‘4GX’ branded LTE-700 infrastructure. According to the executive, the MNO now offers LTE-based connectivity across more than 1.4 million square kilometres.
