Vodafone Germany and Deutsche Glasfaser have announced an agreement that will see the pair cooperate in the deployment of fibre-optic networks in 19 commercial areas of Dusseldorf. Under the deal, Deutsche Glasfaser Business will be responsible for the planning and expansion of the passive infrastructure in certain areas, while Vodafone will operate the networks and provide the services to businesses and SMEs. The pair claim that several thousand companies will be able to access maximum broadband speeds of 1Gbps starting in 2018.
