The Information Technology Authority (ITA) along with Middle East College and other partners launched the second edition of the training programme of IT Kids Innovation Theatre at Knowledge Oasis Muscat.
About 40 kids are participating in the programme aimed at enhancing children’s capabilities in IT field.
The programme intends to encourage them to utilise their IT knowledge, ideas and imagination to produce real services and products under the supervision of specialists in this field and empower them to be future IT entrepreneurs.
This workshop will have technical and non-technical skill development, which includes digital media development such as animation, film production etc, applications development (electronic games and mobile applications), hardware and IT innovation (robotics, programming and other related application development)) along with soft skill development in personality development, interpersonal effectiveness, mind mapping, entrepreneurship development, security, HSE and problem-solving sessions.
In addition to workshops, an opportunity for the kids to work in real environment will be provided.
Developed applications and innovations will be displayed at the accompanying exhibition to be held at the closing ceremony at the end of the programme.
In association with Microsoft and Oman IT Society, IT Kids Innovation Theater will also have an open day session for all the kids under the name of Code and Create @ 2 Hours of Code.
It will allow students to acquire the basic knowledge and skills in coding.
The main objectives of Code and Create @ 2 Hours of Code is to introduce coding languages for students, expand and enhance their knowledge and skills in coding and encourage them to apply coding languages in developing applications, websites and games.
Registration in ‘2 Hours of Code’ is open for students of all nationalities, in the age group between 8 and 15 years.
