New Zealand telco Spark says it has completed an upgrade of its core optical transport network (OTN) on the country’s South Island to improve resiliency in cases of national disaster or emergency, as well as increasing capacity. The OTN provides backbone and core connectivity between all the main cities in New Zealand, transporting all customers’ mobile, broadband, landline, and managed and unmanaged enterprise traffic.
