Spain’s Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda (Ministerio de Energia, Turismo y Agenda Digital, MINETAD) has launched a public consultation regarding the future introduction of 5G technology. The issues on which input is required relate to: the status of 5G technology; potential 5G services and applications; network deployment; radio spectrum; 5G prototypes; and 5G research and development (R&D). MINETAD estimates that the economic impact of the introduction of 5G in Spain by 2025 will be EUR14.6 billion (USD16.6 billion). Submissions are welcome until 31 July.
