The Department of Immigration amid a programme today launched a mobile application as part of of its Immigration Improvement Strategic Plan.
Launching the app called ‘Nepal Immigration’, Minister of Home Affairs Janardan Sharma expressed the belief that the app, also containing information about Nepal’s immigration laws and regulations, would be helpful for the country’s immigration sector.
As per the department, the app will enable tourists to fill up arrival and departure digital forms. On the occasion, Minister Sharma said immigration had a significant bearing on national security and stressed on proper use of the application to ensure that criminals and terrorists did not misuse the app to sneak into the country.
Minister Shama said the home ministry was scrutinising employees in various immigration offices, including the one at Tribhuvan International Airport and instructed them to discharge their duties sincerely. Action will be taken against staff members found involved in irregularity, he warned.
