Makedonski Telekom is currently upgrading its 4G LTE network with 4×4 multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) technology, thus enabling download speeds of 300Mbps. Subscribers in the capital Skopje will be the first to benefit from the improved speeds, with deployments in other large cities set to follow next year. Makedonski Telekom is planning to invest over EUR60 million (USD68.5 million) in its high-speed ‘Giganet’ network over the next three years.
