Hughes launches affordable integrated broadband and 4G Network Platform

Hughes Network Systems, LLC (Hughes), a leader in managed network solutions, today announced the addition of the Fortinet FortiGate 30E to its portfolio of managed network equipment. The FortiGate 30E is an ideal answer for financial, retail petroleum, convenience store, and restaurant businesses seeking an integrated and highly secure, single-device broadband solution at their retail locations.

The FortiGate 30E is available as part of the HughesON suite of industry-leading managed network services, which combine broadband connectivity, installation, provisioning, and on-site support. It can also be self-installed for those merchants who prefer to implement and maintain their own equipment, using Internet service from a local provider. Either way, customers will gain the enterprise-grade performance, security, and support that Hughes provides to all of its customers.

"Retailers have long needed an affordable, multi-transport and highly secure connectivity solution they can easily deploy themselves using locally provided broadband," said Sampath Ramaswami, senior director, Strategy and Marketing at Hughes. "The 30E is the ideal answer, especially for those with smaller footprint locations requiring a single, tightly integrated solution. And it's a natural addition to our HughesON portfolio of managed service offerings, building on our many decades of experience delivering enterprise-grade networks to the biggest retail brands."

The FortiGate 30E is an all-in-one enterprise platform that is part of the Fortinet Security Fabric, receiving real-time threat intelligence updates to ensure continuous protection from cyber threats. Delivering end-to-end network security and connectivity through a single platform, the FortiGate 30E is ideally suited to serve distributed enterprises and supports:

Integrated 4G/LTE modems for unified connectivity and wireless backup.

IPsec VPN over the Internet enables managed PCI-compliant networks.

Plug-and-play capability ensures fast and simple deployment.

"Maintaining network security and compliance standards can be a major challenge for highly distributed enterprises, who need both powerful security and flexible networking capabilities in an all-in-one device that is easy to deploy and manage," said John Maddison, senior vice president of products and solutions at Fortinet. "Hughes' technical expertise and top-notch service combined with Fortinet's FortiGate 30E ensures that our customers can easily implement high-performance, secure networking for every site across their entire organization."

The addition of the FortiGate 30E highlights the continued focus and commitment Hughes places on delivering the features and services that best meet the needs of its retail customers. From the largest big-box stores to the smallest pop-up locations, retailers can depend on Hughes to deliver products and services that are optimized to their unique environments and applications.
