Mobitel has launched a revolutionary Mobile Air Ticketing facility, which enables customers to book airline tickets through Mobitel itself, creating history as the first telco here to achieve this feat.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA), the premier travel-related certifying body in the world, has recently accredited Mobitel Air Ticketing to sell airline tickets and provide all other travel agent services directly to its customers. Mobitel customers can now avail themselves of special airfare deals when they book via Mobitel on Sri Lankan airlines, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Jet Airways, Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines, who have already come forward to partner Mobitel and be part of this pioneering initiative to offer best guaranteed outbound tour packages world-wide, according to a company media release.
Customers have to simply dial 365 from their Mobitel phones or 1265 from the SLT landline for SLT customers who can also avail of this service. Mobitel’s corporate clients will be provided with an exclusive hotline number for streamlined booking. Already, some of the leading corporates in Sri Lanka are onboard the Mobitel Air Ticketing service and are enjoying unimaginable convenience and simplicity, it said.
Mobitel offers Mobile Air Ticketing services to existing and potential customers, backed by the accreditation granted by IATA. “This service will revolutionize airline booking convenience for customers and unleash a slew of benefits they never thought possible. This service puts customers in control of their bookings, which can now be done from the mobile device coupled with access to some of the great deals,” the release said.
