Belarus plans to ramp up 4G rollout

The Belarus Ministry of Communications and Informatisation (Minsvyazi) says it is looking to have 4G LTE networks deployed in all towns with a population of more than 50,000 within the next two years. A report from BelTA says the government is also hoping to have live 5G networks in the country within five years. LTE services are available in Belarus over the open access network being deployed by Belarusian Cloud Technologies (beCloud). Minsvyazi recently announced that 60% of the population could access 4G services, following expansion works in the first quarter of the year, with network coverage extended to all regional centres, large cities, and to all inhabitants in the capital, Minsk.
