Russian mobile operator Megafon has upgraded its network in the town of Mirniy in the Republic of Sakha, reports Cnews.ru. The operator has raised the capacity of its backbone network there. The upgrade has enabled Megafon to double its mobile internet speed on LTE and LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) networks in the town. Speeds of up to 150 Mbps have become available on the LTE-A network.
LTE-services from Megafon are currently available in 30 settlements including 450,000 residents in Sakha.
