Qubit.tv, the OTT service which is already available in Argentina, Colombia, Guatemala, Ecuador, Uruguay and Paraguay, has chosen Chile due to the country’s increasing video-on-demand (VOD) consumption habits, especially via mobile devices.
According to Qubit.tv’s announcement, made in the Chilean newspaper La Tercera, the service will initially cost $6 per month and will give unlimited access to a catalogue with over 3,000 movies and series.
“We aim to finish our first operative year in Chile exceeding the 100,000 subscribers, and then double figures in 2018,” said Sebastian Camiser, director, marketing and B2B, Qubit.tv. “We’re optimistic, and know it’s possible as we have done it already in Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Guatemala and Uruguay”.
Launched in 2009, Qubit.tv first expanded further into Latin America in 2014 and 2015, using 2016 to prepare new launches. Last summer it announced plans to move into Chile, Panama, Costa Rica and Peru before the end of 2017.
