Omantel reinforces its position as most powerful Omani brand in Brand Finance’s Top 50 most valued Middle Eastern brands

Omantel, the leading provider of integrated telecommunications services in the Sultanate, has become the only Omani brand to be ranked in Brand Finance’s prestigious annual ‘Top 50 most valued Middle Eastern brands’ report.

The company has climbed two ranks from no. 47 in 2016 to occupy the 45th position in 2017- a five percent growth in brand value amounting to $390 million, in comparison to last year.

Founded in 1996, Brand Finance is the world’s leading independent branded business valuation and strategy consultancy. Brand Finance calculates the values of the brands in its league tables using the ‘Royalty Relief approach’. This approach involves estimating the likely future sales that are attributable to a brand and calculating a royalty rate that would be charged for the use of the brand.

The growth rate reflects Omantel’s improvement as a brand and its ability to be a key player in the region. The achievement highlights the status of Omantel as a leading brand and telecom provider in the Sultanate. It is also a testament to the high quality services provided by Omantel to both individual and corporate customers, as well as the brand’s growing footprint in the Middle East region.
