The EU's national data protection regulators have adopted a largely positive response to the European Commission's proposed reforms of the ePrivacy directive. At the latest meeting of the so-called Article 29 Working Group of EU privacy regulators, they adopted a final position on the proposals. They are in favour of plans to extend the rules originally destined for telecom providers to OTT service providers, particularly concerning the confidentiality of communications, and also support the update to rules on online tracking.
