Companhia Santomense de Telecomunicacoes (CST), the incumbent provider of fixed, mobile and data services in Sao Tome and Principe, has doubled the maximum speed available across its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network to 200Mbps. The company said it would gradually increase the speed of existing ‘Netfibra’ customers this month at no additional cost. CST’s fibre-optic infrastructure is currently available to around 25,000 homes and business in the country’s main towns and cities, but the firm is aiming to gradually replace its ADSL networks with fibre technology, in order to improve the speed, quality and stability of its internet service.
