Omantel, the sultanate's most trusted telecoms provider, recently signed an agreement with the Al Jarwani Group and Tamani Global Development & Investment, developers of the Palm Mall project.
Under the agreement, Omantel will provide a comprehensive range of state-of-the-art telecommunication services including the installation of high-speed fibre optic network for voice calls and data at the unique tourism project, which is set to become a valuable addition to the tourism infrastructure in Muscat.
The project, which has an estimated construction budget of RO90mn and draws inspiration from one of the most prominent cultural symbols of Oman – the date palm, located in Al Khair Street, Seeb, Ma'abela South. Palm Mall will include the largest amusement park ever seen in Oman, a number of early learning and entertainment centres for different age groups, Snow Village, VOX Cinema with 12 4DX screens, signature stores, 4-star Hotel and hotel apartments and a first-of-its-kind aquarium. As per the agreement, Omantel will provide state-of-the-art services and smart solutions for all facilities of the project.

Following the installation of the necessary infrastructure, the services Omantel will provide include fixed voice and data services, mobile voice and data services and high speed broadband connectivity, in addition to other solutions designed for smart cities.'
The Palm Mall project covers an area of 260,000 m2, with 200 shopping outlets, 36 restaurants at the food court and 14 other restaurants spread around the mall. The project is a significant addition to the tourism sector in Muscat, a sector which is playing an increasingly important role in Oman's economic diversification strategy.
