NTB inks agreements with travel website for destination promotion

Nepal will be promoted through international media and a popular travel website, which is expected to raise the inflow of tourists in the country.

In this regard, the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) signed agreements here today with BBC, Reuters and TripAdvisor (travel website) for destination promotion.

Through the big brands of the digital media, the country will promote its tourism destinations and disseminate positive news about the country, according to Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of the NTB.

The separate agreements were signed between Nepal Tourism Board CEO Joshi and Vishal Bhatnagar, sales director for South Asia of BBC (Advertising), Bharat Nagpal of Trip Advisor and SN Bhaduri, director of integral media, sole representative of Reuters in South Asia.

BBC will advertise Nepal as tourism destination till the month of September this year and the cost to advertise in BBC is $680,000.

Likewise, NTB has entered a 10-month partnership with TripAdvisor, a popular travel website, which gets 390 million visitors every month.

The website will create a separate page for Nepal highlighting the tourism destinations in the country. Nepal Tourism Board will pay TripAdvisor $280,000 for this purpose.

Similarly, Reuters platform will be used to disseminate positive stories of Nepal for the next three months.

In turn, the NTB will pay Reuters a total of $75,000 for the facility.
