STC to host SAMENA Council's ICT Regional Regulatory Summit on April 12th

SAMENA Telecommunications Council, the tri-regional non-profit telecommunications association of telecommunications operators has announced that Saudi Telecom Company (STC), which also chairs the Council’s board of directors, will host the regional Regulatory Summit, which will be held in Riyadh on April 12. SAMENA Telecommunications Council’s regional Regulatory Summit is a region-wide conference, organized in collaboration with the Saudi Communication & Information Technology Commission (CITC), to promote public-private co-operation for digital transformation in the region.

The Regulatory Summit will bring together C-level executives from large telecoms, technology and ICT companies as well as public-private stakeholders and government delegations. The Summit will provide a critical platform for knowledge exchange and debate, and foster the understanding of evolving dynamics of the ICT environment. With the presence of government delegations, regulators, and leadership from GCC telecom operators as well as STC, many industry experts believe this event would be significant for the regional telecom industry.

The Regulatory Summit will deliberate the best practices related to digital transformation and the challenges and opportunities in Digital Switchover. It will also present insight into many aspects of the future of mobile market competition, technologies and services. The primary aim of the regional Regulatory Summit is to help understand imperatives in public sector and private sector cooperation in view of Saudi Arabia's national ICT vision as well as realities and transformation trends in regional digital development.

“We are honored to have Saudi Telecom as the main sponsor of the Summit,” said Bocar BA, chief executive of SAMENA Council. “The attendees of the regional Regulatory Summit represent the most influential telecom organizations and government entities in the industry. These leaders, regulators, thought-leaders and executive participants from private and Government sectors will optimize strategic opportunities to work together; undertake collaborative efforts to realize digital transformation for the benefit of citizens and businesses in the region.

By conducting this regional stakeholder activity in Riyadh, SAMENA Council looks forward to supporting the Saudi Vision 2030 in all ways possible, while representing the needs and the issues of the private sector of Saudi Arabia and of neighboring GCC markets.”
