ZTE has announced an agreement with Digicel to expand 4G networks across its 26 markets in the Caribbean and Central America. The deal is part of Digicel’s ongoing network transformation programme and will help provide subscribers with superior mobile internet connectivity and coverage, said ZTE, adding that it will be implementing its Uni-RAN platform to increases the network operation efficiency by prolonging the lifecycle of devices through network upgrades and smooth evolution. Based on ZTE’s SDR (Software Defined Radio) technology, Uni-RAN protects operators’ investment, reducing network costs and increasing the stability and reliability of network operation.
The contract is part of Digicel's recently-announced "Digicel 2030" global transformation programme to provide customers with a completely new communications and entertainment experience made possible by a more agile application of resources and investment.
