Sweden’s Telia Company has acquired regional operator C-Sam, and will take over the responsibility for running and maintaining its fibre-optic networks in the regions of Sodertalje, Jarna and Nykvarn. The takeover includes approximately 11,000 customers, the press release notes. Going forward, the day-to-day management of the company will be overseen by Swedish Urban Networks, a subsidiary of Telia. C-Sam recorded sales of SEK36 million (USD3.97 million) for full-year 2016.
Anders Tillander, head of Telia’s fibre business, commented: ‘We are strengthening our local presence in Sodertalje where C-Sam has gained a strong position among its customers. Since 2015 Telia has invested more than SEK6 billion on the expansion of super-fast fibre broadband, and the acquisition is part of our efforts to build a digital world class infrastructure.’
