An agreement was signed between Allied Bank and Punjab Food Authority for digitization of Public Health & Food Safety Program of Government of Punjab in a ceremony held at Lahore. Present at the occasion were Tahir Hassan Qureshi, President & CEO, Allied Bank, Bilal Yaseen Malik, Minister for Food (Punjab), Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, DG., PFA., Directors PFA., Acting President Lahore Chamber of Commerce, President’s Akbari Mandi and Lahore Restaurants Association, senior executives of Allied Bank along with other distinguished guests.
Through this digitization initiative, Allied Bank in collaboration with Punjab Food Authority will issue Smart Licenses to Food Business Operators and will offer them a high-tech banking platform for online payment of License Fee and other charges.
Speaking on this occasion, Tahir Hassan Qureshi, President & CEO, ABL, highlighted bank’s initiatives aimed at delivering banking services to valued customers through innovative financial products and services. He said, “Allied Bank is committed to provide high-tech banking services to its customers through Digital Channels and 1150 online branchesnationwide.” He further said, “We are pleased to join hands with Punjab Food Authority to support Public Health and Food Safety Program and will also explore other avenues of joint venture with Government of Punjab to play our part in the development of our society.” He elaborated that “Subject initiative is very much in line with the Banks focused efforts to achieve optimum level of financial inclusion by bringing those millions of food operators in the banking channel”
Bilal Yasin, Minister for Food, stated that the Food Department is determined to implement Chief Minister Punjab’s vision of Healthy Punjab. He said, “Being highest priority area of our CM we are striving to provide quality food products to our people and the Government of Punjab is providing immense support for the success of Public Health and Food Safety Program.
