Over the next three years, the French telco will provide and manage all cloud-Web services for the Spanish media company, including data communication and data centre services, enabling Mediaset to control both a private and a public cloud platform, through which it delivers over-the-top (OTT) and online video content.
In addition, Orange will provide IP VPN redundant accesses and Internet connection for Mediaset, aiming to guarantee a stable connection among all communication services.
The solution will be deployed through Orange’s new IP network for large businesses, a service targeting present and future connectivity and digital demands.
“Digital services are critical for audiovisual companies, which need great scalability capacities in order to address traffic peaks during their most watched programmes,” stated the French telco. “Orange’s solution is distributed in two data centres working in parallel to guarantee data is always available, even during a crisis situation.”
Mediaset is one of the Spanish free-to-air (FTA) TV companies which serves most online videos per month. According to latest figures, the company delivers over 95 million online videos each month, most of which are through the website of its main linear channel, Telecinco.
