O2 CR raises Internet at home to 99% of Czech households

Czech incumbent PTO O2 CR has announced that its ‘Internet at Home’ broadband service is now available to 99% of households in the Republic. The service is primarily delivered via xDSL technology, which itself covers 84% of homes in the country, and will continue to be offered as the primary connection for households and small businesses. O2 CR, which uses VDSL technology heavily in its ongoing upgrade programme, is foregrounding three broadband tariffs: Optimal Internet (up to 20Mbps), Internet Aktiv (50Mbps) and Internet Premium (80Mbps). In addition, O2 is seeking to reach customers in other areas via 4G LTE and to that end has launched a pilot trial of Internet Optimal, promising maximum speeds of up to 20Mbps. By combining the two technologies, O2 achieved coverage of 99% of households, it says.
