The contract, inked in October 2016, came about after Yoigo opted not to renew the three-year network sharing deal it struck with Telefonica Espana (Movistar) in July 2013, ahead of its December 2016 expiration. As a result of the tie-up, MASMOVIL said it will also share radio towers with Orange Espana for future mobile network deployments. Further, the agreement also granted MASMOVIL wholesale access to Orange Espana’s entire fibre broadband infrastructure, which currently passes more than 8.3 million homes and businesses.
