Ooredoo Maldives and Huawei Marine on December 16, 2016, inaugurated the service provider's Nationwide Submarine Cable. The undersea cable system, which leverages 100-Gbps technology, will help Ooredoo Maldives bring high-speed mobile broadband services to the islands.
The submarine network, which Huawei Marine deployed, runs 1,200 km to connect six main islands in Maldives. The undersea fiber-optic network has a design capacity of 3.2 Tbps.
