Omantel voted ‘The Most Trusted Brand’ in Oman telecom sector

Omantel, the Sultanate’s leading telecoms provider, has once again reinforced its position as the ‘Most Trusted Brand’ in the telecom sector in the Sultanate based on the survey carried out by Oman Economic Review (OER), local English magazine. The survey recognised Omantel as the most trusted Omani brand in the telecom sector amongst top management polls as well executives. This most recent recognition is the latest addition to Omantel’s growing collection of honours and accolades.

The participants at the survey have been divided into two main groups (Top management and executives) and six sub groups. The senior management group included two categories namely the Omanis and expats. The executive group included four main categories namely Omanis, expats, males and females. When it comes to telecom services, there has been a consensus among all groups that Omantel is the most trusted brand in the Sultanate. The selection reflects the confidence vested in Omantel’s products and services further proves that Omantel is the trusted brand in the Sultanate.

Commenting on the award, Hamdan Moosa Al Harassi, Acting VP Corporate Strategy at Omantel said, “We are honoured to once again be selected as Oman’s most trusted telecoms brand. OER’s ‘Most Trusted Brands Oman 2016’ survey tracks the strength of various brands’ relationships with their customers and was carried out by the Arabian Research Bureau (ARB) between September and October 2016 on behalf of OER. The survey was conducted across a random cross section of employees working in Oman totalling 750 respondents, 380 Omanis and 370 expatriates. They were then classified into two categories, namely ‘Top Management’ (150 respondents) and ‘Executives’ (600 respondents). The survey was conducted with completely open-ended questions with no brand names mentioned in order to ensure no external triggers or pointers affected the results.

Over the last few years, Omantel brand received a number of regional and international awards. Besides maintaining its position as the most valuable brand in Oman since 2010, the brand has been selected as the brand of the year by the World Branding Forum in London to recognise the achievements of the best brands in the world. Omantel also received the ‘Quality Choice Prize 2016’ by the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR) for its ethics and initiatives that demonstrate exceptional success in quality management.
