Common billing platform introduced by Teletalk

16 service providers have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with A2I (Access to Information Programme of Prime Minister’s Office) to enable subscribers to pay water, electricity and gas bills using a common platform on Teletalk mobile phones called “P2G”, on Tuesday morning.

The signing took place between A2I program director Kabir Bin Anwar and chief of delegations of each of the sixteen organisations at the Prime Minister’s Office.

P2G (payment to government) – a joint initiative of A2I and Teletalk – is a payment service that will enable every subscribers to pay their utility bills from mobile phones with Teletalk connection.

The signatories at the event said P2G – which has been introduced in line with the goals of digital Bangladesh – will considerably reduce the subscribers’ hassle of paying utility bills.

The sixteen organisations are Power Development Board (PDB), West Zone Power Distribution Company Limited, Karnafuli Gas Distribution Company Limited, Rural Electrification Board, DESCO, DPDC, DSCC, DNCC, Teletalk, Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited, Bakhrabad Gas Distribution Company Limited (BGDCL), Dhaka WASA (Water Supply and Sewerage Authority), Khulna Water Supply and Sewerage Authority, Chittagong Water Supply and Sewerage Authority, Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited, and Savar Municipality.
