Omniscreen, a member of Australian CombiTel Group, has developed a new encoder platform that can connect up to eight audio visual sources including camera, DVD, Blu-ray, PC, signage player, set-top box, or other content feeds and transmitting all signals simultaneously to an unlimited number of digital TV sets or set-tops.
The Omniscreen OMM8000 series encoder modulator is a compact and easy-to-deploy solution for in-house TV channel and/or digital signage delivery in corporate and hospitality markets.
The solution is ideally suited to environments including corporate and hospitality environment where there is a need to distribute TV/video streams, information and content to digital TV sets or IP TV sets.
CombiTel MD Eugene Razbash said that demand for this multi input encoder is growing as private and public IPTV solutions and deployments grow in Australia and globally.
“This all-in-one system replaces multiple complex devices. We are seeing huge growth and demand for these solutions across healthcare, aged care, government, university campuses, defence, corporate offices, and burgeoning retail precincts,” Razbash said.
The OMM8000 series encoder modulators consist of multiple H.264/MPEG-2 encoder modules, MPEG Transport Stream (TS) multiplexer, DVB RF modulator and IP streaming module. All encoders are real-time and independently operated.
The integrated RF modulator can be pre-configured to support one of the common QAM or COFDM-based modulation types such as DVB-C, QAM (ITU-T J.83 Annex B), DVB-T or DVB-T2. This functionality extends the operational life of the existing in-building or campus coaxial networks by supporting additional content options.
Furthermore, some models from Omniscreen OMM8000 range support simultaneous transmission over coaxial (or HFC) and IPTV networks.
