Ukrainian mobile operator Kyivstar carries out a project on the upgrade of its network under the Single Ran principle. The equipment supporting both 3G and LTE technologies has been installed on over 7,000 of its base stations. Kyivstar plans to modernise almost 3,000 additional base stations in this way in 2017.
LTE technology is still absent in Ukraine. The national telecommunications regulator NKRZI is carrying out the preparations for freeing up spectrum for the LTE introduction.
The 3G network of Kyivstar covers almost 5,000 settlements across the country including 62 percent of the population.
