Bangladeshi mobile operator Robi has signed an agreement with Bangladesh Power development Board (BPDB) and AplombTech BD (BPDB’s technical partner) to run a pilot project in Comilla. This pilot project will allow BPDB customers to recharge their smart/ prepaid meters from RobiCash point logo signed agent points. This pilot project will help BPDB roll out prepay meter services for its customers.
Robi already provides bill payment services for BPDB customers in all the six billing regions (Chittagong, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Comilla, Sylhet, and Rangpur). It also offers bill payment services for the clients of Dhaka and Chittagong Wasa and Desco.
Robi Utility Bills Pay Service users can pay their utility bills from authorized ‘RobiCash Point’ signed agent points. Agents are paying bills using USSD technology on behalf of customers. Both agents and customers receive a confirmation SMS following the completion of the bill payment.
