TIM (Telecom Italia) has announced that the town of Vercelli in the northern Piedmont region now boasts a fully operational fibre-optic and 4G-LTE network following an investment of around USD 2.1 million. The operator said it rolled out a total of 33 km of cables to connect some 17,000 homes, allowing customers to access the internet at speeds of up to 100 Mbps.
TIM also announced that customers in many parts of Vercelli can access its LTE-A service, called TIM 4G Plus, offering speeds that are twice as fast as its regular 4G service.
