O2 UK this week took the wraps off its smart home service, which offers a range of contracts for customers who want to manage their energy consumption or improve security.
Aptly-titled O2 Home, it comes in three, 24-month contracts: the first, 'Comfort', costs £30 per month and comes with a smart thermostat, two smart power plugs, and one presence sensor.
'View' costs the same, but consists of two surveillance cameras, a presence sensor, and one sensor that can tell if a door or window is opened or closed.
Finally, 'Connect' costs £20 per month and comes with two presence sensors, two open-and-close sensors, and two smart plugs.
O2 Home also comes with a home installation service, plus an annual 'health check' on customers' smart home equipment.
"Keeping your home up to date with technology shouldn't be complicated – so we've brought together connectivity and smart technology in a simple package to give customers peace of mind wherever they are," said Nina Bibby, marketing and consumer director at O2 UK, in a statement on Thursday.
Customers who sign up between now and 14 September can get the first 12 months of O2 Home for free.
The service is based on AT&T's Digital Life smart home platform; O2 struck a Digital Life partnership with the U.S. telco in January.
O2 Home is available initially in London but will roll out nationwide "in the near future", O2 said.
