Greg Young, Chief Executive Officer of Ooredoo Oman, has been listed as being in the top 10 percent of Chief Executive Officer’s in the GCC during the Top CEO awards 2016. The ranking comes in recognition of the long-list of accomplishments achieved by Ooredoo Oman under his leadership. Announced during a gala dinner held at the Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina, the ceremony united some of the most influential decision makers and corporate leaders across the region.

A veteran with over three decades of experience in the telecommunications industry, Greg Young joined the Ooredoo family two and a half years ago. Kicking off his tenure, he successfully oversaw the company’s rebranding, seizing the opportunity to steer it towards multiple achievements including completing its independent nationwide fibre backbone. Ooredoo further reaped the benefits of his extensive knowledge of the industry, increasing its customer base by seven percent and winning critical acclaim for its unprecedented growth within a calendar year and awards such as the Middle East Mobile Operator of the Year 2015. Since his appointment as CEO of Ooredoo, Young has been committed to reaffirming the company’s position as the partner of choice for Oman’s ITC development strategy, resulting in signing several key partnerships and collaboration agreements with the government.

Organised by TRENDS magazine and INSEAD business school, the Top CEO is a red carpet awards ceremony that celebrates the achievements of the GCC’s leading CEO’s. Regarded as the only regional ranking based on the financial statements of more than 700 publicly listed companies, Top CEO has set a benchmark as the most credible and transparent awards in the region.
