Nokia has announced two contract wins with Canada’s Wind Mobile and Indonesia’s Indosat Ooredoo.
First, it has signed a five-year deal to become Wind Canada’s sole infrastructure provider.
Specifically, the Finland-based vendor will deploy new radio LTE, LTE virtualised core and OSS solutions, as well as a cloud-based core based on OpenStack, featuring IMS, HSS, VoLTE, VoWi-Fi and EPC.
Wind, Canada’s fourth largest mobile operator, will more than double network capacity and speed as a result of the deployment, according to Nokia.
The operator’s Chief Executive Alek Krstajic said: “This new partnership with Nokia Networks as our sole source LTE network provider allows WIND to bring the most advanced technologies available to our customers.”
Second, Indosat Ooredoo has selected the vendor to power its LTE-Advanced network.
As part of the contract, Nokia Networks' Global Services team is deploying LTE base stations in key cities across the designated regions.
It has also aggregated two carriers in the 900 and 1800 MHz spectrum bands to deliver up to 150 Mbps downlink speed to Indosat's subscribers in the Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan regions.
Achim Springmann, Head of Indosat Ooredoo Customer Team at Nokia Networks, said: "Nokia Networks has further strengthened its relationship with Indosat Ooredoo through this project and taken the operator another important step towards its vision of providing best-in-class LTE coverage across Indonesia.”
Nokia upped its full-year revenue guidance following the publication of its most recent financial results.
