Unregistered Bangladeshi pre-paid mobile SIM card users who fail to re-register their identifying details for each phone number they use by 15 November will have the number blocked, according to the latest announcement from the Posts & Telecoms Division of the Ministry of Posts, Telecoms & Information Technology (MoPTI). As reported by the Daily Star, the state division added that blocked subscribers will be able to regain network services if they subsequently provide identifying documents. All of Bangladesh’s cellular network operators began a re-registration process for all pre-paid subscribers on 16 October, conducted via SMS text messages, requiring each user to send their national ID number, date of birth and full name by 15 November.
