CounterPath Corporation, a developer of award-winning over-the-top (OTT) Unified Communications solutions for enterprises and operators, has announced that IPLAN, an Argentinian service provider, selected CounterPath's Bria softphones and Stretto Platform for use in its Unified Communications service.
"We are excited to partner with IPLAN, an innovative service provider based in Buenos Aires, Argentina," said Todd Carothers, EVP of Marketing and Products at CounterPath. "This agreement again demonstrates the quality, versatility and universal nature of our products. We were selected by IPLAN based on the results of an extensive test cycle, our ability to support multiple platforms and operating systems, and our ability to interwork seamlessly with IPLAN's BroadSoft infrastructure. We look forward to supporting IPLAN as they offer economical voice and messaging services to Argentina's 40 million citizens."
According to government data, the Argentine telecom industry generated nearly $18 billion of revenue in 2013. Argentina privatized and deregulated its telecom industry in the late 1990s, and now supports a diverse ecosystem of service providers offering low-cost alternative service providers that compete with the incumbents by offering innovative services and competitive prices. IPLAN is a leading provider of high-speed broadband, unified communications and VoIP services to SMBs and enterprises in the local market.
"We are very happy to partner with CounterPath," said Ezequiel Torres, Product Manager at IPLAN. "CounterPath's technology offers the agility we require to succeed in the Argentinean market, and positions us to offer our subscribers a high quality service."
