STC announced full technical promptness of its networks for the current Hajj season. STC group CEO for technical operations Dr. Ziad Al-Otaib previewed the network promptness on the ground, in Makkah "Mina, Muzdalifa and Arafat", in presence of eng. Bandar Alqafari VP for network sector. The visit included the expansion works, special solutions, protection systems, international and interlinking expansions, which was incorporated to the company's networks in order to maintain successes achieved during last Hajj seasons.
The company's executives inspected the current network's designs, adjacent to the huge construction works being executed by the government of custodian of the two holy mosques, which requires rebuilding, designing and adding new stations and additional capacities, to secure excellent services' performance. In addition to internal solutions added this season, such as some sites inside the holy mosque, the new "Massa'a" expansion, expansions of northern holy mosque "Shamiya", new towers and hotels, Jamrat bridge and tunnels, hospitals, stations and tracks of the two mosques' train from Mina to Arafat through Muzdalifa which had been equipped with high capacities internal solutions, distributed by Fiber Optics systems, supported with hundreds of basic fixed and mobile stations, that support advanced 2G and 3G networks HSPA+ and will contribute the smoothness of communication traffic during rush hours, along with DSL, VDSL and FTTX services' networks which STC is individualized in delivering to residential sectors, accommodations and hotels sectors, governmental sectors, buildings and towers surrounding the holy mosque and Hot Spots. The company uniquely presents this service freely to its customers, where media institutions and internal and external hajj campaigns benefit from it. Expansions and development also included TV transmission lines and encrypting devices that STC exclusively provide for live transmission of prayers and hajj rituals to the whole world.
Dr. Al-Otaibi and other company executives checked up operational and preventive plans, safe solutions to avoid service failure, field emergency plans, maintenance works, and service retrieve plans and the geographical locations of field team-works in order to instantly respond if they are needed – god forbid.
