Chunghwa Telecom has partnered with Broadpeak to enhance monetization for its streaming service, Hami Video, by leveraging Broadpeak’s server-side ad insertion (SSAI) solution via the broadpeak.io SaaS platform. This partnership enables Chunghwa Telecom to implement dynamic ad insertion for the first time, elevating viewing experiences and increasing ad revenue, particularly for live basketball matches and premium sports content.
Serving over 3 million video streaming subscribers, Chunghwa Telecom provides a broad array of live and on-demand content, including international sports. With continued investments in premier live sports rights, the operator sought advanced ad insertion capabilities to maximize monetization across its growing OTT service, Hami Video.
Broadpeak's SSAI solution seamlessly integrates ads into video streams, enabling dynamic and personalized ad replacement while avoiding ad blockers. By stitching ads directly into the server-side video stream, the solution ensures smooth playback transitions and enhances ad value. The cloud-based broadpeak.io SaaS model allows for cost-effective and flexible deployment, ensuring rapid time-to-market.
The collaboration also provides Chunghwa Telecom with easy third-party integration via API-driven architecture, ensuring seamless interoperability within existing CDN and ad-tech environments. Broadpeak has implemented AI-driven tools to detect ad breaks and insert SCTE-35 markers automatically, optimizing ad delivery and efficiency.
