A Step Towards Public-Private Integration
As part of Kuwait’s strategic vision to enhance cooperation between the public and private sectors, Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has signed a partnership agreement with Ooredoo Kuwait. This collaboration reflects the government's long-term vision of integrating different economic sectors. The partnership will leverage Ooredoo Kuwait’s advanced telecommunications, artificial intelligence, and media services to enhance operational efficiency and strategic collaboration between both entities.
Such agreements reinforce the integration between public and private sectors, aligning with the government’s current agenda. These strategic partnerships play a vital role in ensuring sustainable development, elevating national projects, and delivering tangible benefits to citizens.
Strengthening the National Economy
The oil and telecommunications industries are two key pillars of Kuwait’s national economy. Their collaboration will strengthen the country’s digital infrastructure, modernize communication technologies, and accelerate digital transformation efforts. Notably, Ooredoo is a key regional partner of NVIDIA, the global leader in artificial intelligence, which aligns with Kuwait’s vision for a digital future under Kuwait Vision 2035.
Moreover, Ooredoo Kuwait, through its subsidiary Fast Telecommunications, manages the "51 Platform," the first-ever strategic partnership between the media and telecom sectors, launched in May last year. The platform has achieved record-breaking success, operated by a young Kuwaiti team dedicated to showcasing Kuwait’s media heritage in the best possible light. This collaboration between KOC and Ooredoo will extend to the "51 Platform," where KOC’s achievements will be highlighted, and a globally competitive creative project will be developed.
Through this agreement, both companies will exchange expertise and build on Ooredoo's experience with the Ministry of Information to enhance KOC’s telecommunications and media capabilities. Ooredoo’s expertise in advertising and digital media will be a key asset in this partnership.
Public Relations and Media Strategy
Mohammad Al-Basri, Director of Public Relations & Media at KOC, emphasized that the company is committed to strategic private sector partnerships. He stated:
"This collaboration establishes a framework for cooperation between the two sectors, benefiting both KOC and the nation."
He further highlighted that this agreement resulted from extensive meetings and preparations, ensuring practical and impactful initiatives beyond telecommunications—extending into media, public relations, and artificial intelligence. He added:
"Ooredoo’s excellence in managing the '51 Platform' proves the success of public-private partnerships. This motivated us to be part of this collaboration, which will bring significant benefits to the public through upcoming services."
A Key Partner in KOC’s Strategy
Nouf Al-Mashaan, Senior Director of External Affairs, Innovation, and Strategic Projects at Ooredoo Kuwait, stated:
"We are proud to be a core part of KOC’s public relations and media strategy. Our telecommunications, media, and advertising services are now an integral part of their plans. This exceptional partnership underscores the government’s commitment to private sector collaboration, which is essential in executing Kuwait’s Vision 2035."
She emphasized that Ooredoo follows a strategy centered on strategic partnerships with both public and private sectors. Ooredoo’s expertise in telecommunications and technology has helped elevate the "51 Platform" from a local initiative to a global one, reaching viewers in over 190 countries. She expressed pride in this partnership and anticipation for more strategic collaborations, especially in artificial intelligence.
Film Festival and Ahmadi Sports Day
Bdoor Al-Sayyid Omar, Head of Media at KOC, highlighted that this collaboration will enhance the company’s media presence through the "51 Platform" and Ooredoo’s services. She announced that the first outcome of this partnership will be seen in the Short Film Festival and Ahmadi Sports Day, ensuring these events are presented in a new and innovative way.
She also noted that several other projects have been pre-approved and will be launched in the coming months, benefiting both the media industry and Kuwait’s ongoing artificial intelligence advancements.
A Stronger Connection Between Public and Private Sectors
Naser Hamad Al-Arfaj, Senior Director of Strategic Relations & Innovation at Ooredoo Kuwait, stated:
"This milestone was achieved through extensive coordination between both companies. The initiatives that will be launched are unlike any previous partnership, and they will be particularly beneficial to young Kuwaitis while significantly contributing to national progress."
