Efforts by the Paktika Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Technology have led to the installation and activation of 35 telecommunication network towers across the province, including its center, at a total cost of 440 million Afghanis.
Mullah Mohammad Anwar Qiyam Adil, the head of the Paktika Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Technology, told Bakhtar News Agency that 25 sites under the Salam Telecommunication Network were approved for 24 districts as part of the 10th TDF project this year. Surveys for these sites have been completed, and most construction work has been finalized.
He further stated that 35 telecommunication network towers have been installed throughout all districts, including the provincial center. Additionally, three sites in Argon and Sarroza districts have been upgraded to prepare inactive sites in Argon, Surobi, and Barmal districts for 3G services.
Adil noted that within the directorate, a fully equipped computer lab worth three million Afghanis has been established, along with the renovation of the building and procurement of necessary equipment.
With the completion of these sites, 90% of telecommunication issues in the region have been resolved. According to the plans for the upcoming 1404 solar year, telecommunication challenges in the entire province will be addressed, expanding coverage of telecommunication services in Paktika.
