Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inaugurated Cairo ICT 2024, the country’s premier ICT exhibition and conference, emphasizing the nation’s commitment to digital transformation. The event, themed “The Next Wave,” brought together government agencies, local and international companies, and technology experts to showcase advancements and discuss the future of ICT in Egypt.
During the opening ceremony, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat detailed Egypt’s Digital Strategy, outlining its key pillars and achievements. The strategy focuses on empowering citizens through digital services, creating digital economy jobs, and fostering innovation.
Talaat highlighted key projects like the Digital Egypt platform, the comprehensive health insurance digitization project, and AI applications for healthcare. He also emphasized the ministry’s support for digital innovation and entrepreneurship, noting Egypt’s growing startup ecosystem and the establishment of Digital Egypt innovation centers across governorates.

The minister also outlined significant progress in digital capacity building, with a substantial increase in the number of trainees benefiting from various programs. These programs target all ages and skill levels, from children to university graduates and professionals, including initiatives to empower people with disabilities.
Furthermore, Talaat reviewed the development of Egypt’s outsourcing sector, which has experienced significant growth in recent years. He highlighted the increasing number of specialists and outsourcing centers supporting international companies, contributing to Egypt’s position as a key player in the global digital services market.
The Cairo ICT exhibition showcased various government agencies and their digital transformation initiatives, including the Egyptian Post, the Ministry of Higher Education, the Financial Regulatory Authority, and the Central Bank of Egypt. The exhibition also featured leading mobile and information technology companies, demonstrating 5G applications, cloud computing solutions, and advancements in data center infrastructure.
Overall, Cairo ICT 2024 served as a platform to showcase Egypt’s progress in digital transformation and its commitment to building a robust and inclusive digital economy.
