Jazz, VEON’s digital operator in Pakistan, has launched FikrFree, an innovative AI-powered digital marketplace aimed at revolutionizing access to insurance and healthcare services in the country. This initiative addresses a critical need in Pakistan, where insurance penetration remains low and millions lack access to essential healthcare.
FikrFree offers a comprehensive platform that integrates insurance, healthcare, and financial services into a single mobile app. By leveraging artificial intelligence, the platform recommends personalized insurance plans tailored to individual customer needs.
“Access to affordable healthcare is a fundamental need,” says Kaan Terzioglu, CEO of VEON Group. “In Pakistan, where millions struggle to find suitable insurance coverage and healthcare services, VEON is addressing this challenge with connected digital services.”
FikrFree aims to overcome barriers to healthcare access by providing affordable insurance options with flexible payment models, including pay-as-you-go and micro-insurance policies. The platform also streamlines the claims process, enabling customers to submit claims easily and receive payouts within 36 hours.
This launch aligns with VEON’s Digital Operator 1440 strategy, which focuses on delivering a portfolio of connected services relevant to customers’ needs throughout the day. FikrFree joins Jazz’s successful suite of digital services, including Tamasha, JazzCash, and SIMOSA, which collectively boast millions of monthly active users.
“With the launch of FikrFree, we are empowering customers to access personalized insurance plans, specialist doctors, and on-demand medicine delivery—all in one seamless platform,” added Terzioglu.
VEON’s commitment to connected healthcare services extends beyond Pakistan. Kyivstar in Ukraine offers Helsi Ukraine, a popular healthcare platform, while Banglalink in Bangladesh provides the Banglalink Health Hub through its MyBL super app.
With FikrFree, Jazz is leveraging technology to address a critical societal need and improve the lives of millions in Pakistan. This initiative demonstrates the transformative potential of digital solutions in providing accessible and affordable healthcare services.
