BharatBox, a metaverse venture focused on India, in partnership with The Sandbox and Brinc, has teamed up with GOQii, a health and wellness platform, to launch the country’s first integrated health and wellness platform within the metaverse.
This platform will enable users to engage in wellness routines within an immersive digital environment, incentivised by the Universal Health Token (UHT), a blockchain-based reward system. Users can earn tokens for healthy actions, access health services, and benefit from rewards promoting wellness-focused behaviors.
As India embraces the metaverse, this collaboration combines technology, health, and preventive care in a digital space, offering Indian users a platform that integrates fitness, mental well-being, and nutrition.
India's digital ecosystem is rapidly growing in metaverse adoption, fueled by rising internet penetration, a tech-savvy population, and investments in Web3. The global metaverse market is growing at an annual rate of 13.93 per cent, with India emerging as a key hub.
India ranks among the top five contributors to metaverse development, alongside the US, UK, Germany, and Canada, supported by innovation and investment. Over 26,000 companies operate in the metaverse space, with 27,000 patents worldwide.
Karan Keswani, CEO of BharatBox, said, “Our partnership with GOQii aligns with the growth of both the Indian metaverse and the wellness industry. India’s digital health sector is expected to grow, with healthcare and life sciences startups achieving a CAGR of 127 per cent between 2016 and 2023.”
