IT&E the first to launch Tarana G1 to provide fiber-like internet speeds

IT&E, a leading telecommunications provider in Guam and the Marianas, announced in a press release that it is the first provider in Guam to deploy Tarana’s G1 broadband solution. This next-generation fixed wireless access (ngFWA) technology allows IT&E to deliver fiber-class speeds to residential and business customers without trenching or drilling and it enables IT&E to overcome coverage issues caused by difficult terrain, trees, and other obstructions, the company said in the release. Residential and business customers will be able to enjoy upgraded speeds at affordable rates without long wait times for installation.

Residents in Central and Northern Guam will be the first to enjoy the upgraded experience, IT&E said. Meanwhile, efforts continue to deploy ngFWA sectors all throughout Guam to bring enhanced connectivity islandwide in the next three months, a feat that includes coverage to more than 50,000 households.

"Our aim is to deliver reliable, affordable and high-quality internet to our community and businesses. The integration of Tarana’s next-generation fixed wireless technology with our network is a testament to our team’s ingenuity and commitment to finding solutions to bring fiber-like speeds to our customers despite the unique connectivity challenges we face on Guam. With this technology and our partnership with Tarana, we are achieving our purpose of empowering communities and connecting people to who and what matters most in their lives, whether it’s education, work, or staying in touch with loved ones," said Dave Gibson, CEO of IT&E.

Using 5 gigahertz, 6 GHz, and Citizens Broadband Radio Service spectrums, IT&E can provide high-speed internet in areas where it was previously unavailable due to challenging line-of-sight conditions, the company said in the release. IT&E is committed to delivering high-capacity, low-latency services to its customers, making it possible to serve more users per sector without a reduction in speed or performance, IT&E said. Tarana’s technology resolves connectivity issues caused by spectrum interference and limited bandwidth, providing a stable link and increased bandwidth that allows IT&E to offer more reliable services to its customers.

"We are thrilled to be a part of IT&E's coverage expansion. Fast, reliable internet service is more important than ever, and our ngFWA technology is delivering better broadband worldwide. We look forward to seeing great results in Guam with IT&E," said Basil Alwan, CEO of Tarana.

IT&E continues its mission to provide cutting-edge connectivity solutions so that residents can better connect with loved ones and can take advantage of educational and career opportunities, online services and entertainment; businesses can enhance and grow their operations to better serve their customers; and community organizations can better serve the population, IT&E said in the release.
