State-backed telecom company Nepal Telecom (NTC) says that it is diligently restoring services in various parts where its networks were affected by the heavy floods and landslides. The company says that it has dispatched technical teams for reinstating services across Nepal in impacted areas.
The company said that some of its cell towers (BTS) have gone offline due to a power outage. Additionally, natural disasters have also impacted transmission links leading to network unavailability.
“Telephone and Internet services have been restored in many places, while efforts are being made to restore services in other places as well,” NTC said in its presser.
News emerged that cellular networks went down in many areas in recent days owing to floods and landslides. Connectivity remains extremely vital and significant in such hazardous times. But natural disasters affect infrastructure while the lack of electricity supply also contributes to mobile network disruptions. However, NTC has assured that it is at work to bring back the network live at the earliest.
The company also maintained that it reestablished telephone and internet services in several places while its personnel are at work for the same in the remaining areas.
