(September 2, 2024, Dubai – UAE) SAMENA Telecommunications Council announces that the second edition of the South Asia – Middle East – North Africa Leadership and Excellence Awards in Digital-development (SA-ME-NA LEAD) will be held on October 15th, 2024 in Dubai, UAE, with the aim to recognize accelerated efforts by regional Telecom Operators, Regulators, and Digital Space Players, particularly focusing on Innovation, Business Leadership, Experience Delivery, Fixed Wireless Access Success, and Regulatory Enablement.
The 2024 edition of the SA-ME-NA LEAD awards program (or the “LEADs”) will highlight and recognize advanced ICT success in the region, including but not limited to 5G&5G-Advanced development, optical fiber broadband, datacom, cloud-based transformation, and mobile finance. LEADs will also recognize and promote development and success achieved in monetizing 5G&5G-Advanced investments through the adoption of Fixed Wireless Access technology. LEADs carry the underlying aim to highlight technology, regulatory, and business milestones within and around the region, to help foster and propagate new best practices and inspire similar success in neighboring regions, especially in Central Asia, Africa, among others, while enabling both businesses and regulators to create new cross-border synergies and opportunities for growth. LEADs also serve as a platform to recognize regulator achievements, actions and approaches that are supporting the private sector and enabling sustainable investment avenues.
An update on the opening and closing of the nomination process for the SA-ME-NA LEADs, including facility to submit award qualifying information to SAMENA Council for consideration, will be provided in the coming days via the SAMENA Council website. Attendance in the LEADs ceremony is by-invitation-only.
