CST to organize the second edition of "Connecting the World from the Skies" forum in collaboration with ITU

Under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Abdullah Alswaha, Minister of Communications & Information Technology and Chairman of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST), CST will hold the second edition of the “Connecting the World from the Skies” forum in collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Riyadh during the 25th and 26th of November 2024. The forum will be under the title “Shaping the future of converged connectivity”, and it aims to keep pace with the rapid development of telecom services, provide digital solutions to serve humanity and connect remote areas, and foster research and innovation in non-terrestrial networks technologies, while enabling an eco friendly telecom infrastructure, and enhancing the regulation of non-terrestrial networks in digital transformation.

The forum will be attended by an elite group of global researchers and specialists in technology and investment, manufacturers' representatives, NTN telecom service providers, as well as local and international regulators. It will features many subtopics including; Seamless Connectivity for All، Towards WRC-27 & Beyond، D2D and Hybrid Connectivity، NTN, IoT, 5G & 6G Convergence، Space Economies and Emerging Markets، The Future of lunar communications، Security of NTN Networks، Sustainable Space Future.

The forum will feature the results of notable NTN experiences, and the announcement of the 2nd edition of the IEEE Competition on Non-Terrestrial Networks for 6G international research competition launched by CST in collaboration with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The event will also discuss NTN provided services and their regulatory and scientific aspects, through sessions and specialized presentations. Include diverse sessions and presentations discussing the future of NTN and related technologies.
